As the GAM (Global Account Manager – Optical Systems) at CVI Laser Optics, you will be tasked with building and executing a strategy to help accelerate growth with our OEM customers. Our customers are industry leaders in a variety of markets including, semiconductor, defense, laser machining, and additive manufacturing.
You will leverage the broader IDEX Optical Technologies (IOT) manufacturing capabilities, processes, and people to enable a collaborative sales approach in support of our customers’ engineering and volume production needs. In addition, you will work with internal leadership to help refine our technology roadmap and champion investments to serve our customer’s needs.
This job position requires compliance with ITAR Regulations. Therefore, all employees working in this capacity must meet citizenship status. Per the CVI Laser, LLC Export Controls Policy and Procedure, the employee must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident.

SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTION
This position will drive profitable growth of the Company in collaboration with the objectives set forth by the GM, CVI.
Key Elements of the GAM Role:
Develop and execute a strategy for top line, sustainable & profitable growth
Building relationships and simultaneously act in the roles of negotiator, consultant, interpreter of customer needs/values, and information broker.
Facilitating multi-level, multi-functional exchange of information between customers and IOT BU’s;
Coordinating and tailoring a comprehensive IOT offering to key accounts;
Responsibility for sales/profit growth of one or more key accounts of Optical systems, consistent with the business objectives of the OT total portfolio of key accounts
Supports internal and external customers’ information needs
Manages entire product lifecycle – from concept to critical to customer objectives and for production. Goals are aligned around achieving and meeting or exceeding key business performance targets, of the Company.
Responsible to ensure the Company's adherence to all Federal and State mandates while upholding the highest standards of conduct and business ethics policy.
Promote and establish IDEX Optical Technologies (IOT) as a key strategic design and supply chain partner in the design and manufacture of critical opto-mechatronic subsystems to identified customer projects/products. Achieve sales targets in defined market(s) and with specified Key Account (s). Identify and coordinate all customer activities during product development, from concept to production. This may involve multi-year project management. Track and monitor progress through a PM system. Interface directly with individual IOT resources as needed to meet customers and Business Unit goals and objectives. Regularly interface with IOT teams as follows:
Development teams, technical staffs, and marketing resources to identify new product and customer opportunities.
Manufacturing / procurement / quality assurance teams to establish quality and delivery metrics to meet customer expectations.
Predict and monitor business by interfacing with the appropriate internal teams and external customer contacts to manage and communicate orders and sales information.
Coordination and execution of regular customer business reviews. Analyze industry and customer account trends. Prepare and present Key Account Plans to include sales reports, forecasts, account goals, engagement overview, needs assessment, and action plans Perform other responsibilities required or as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics or other field (prefer advanced degree in business (MBA) or technical field). Preference given to advanced degree in business (MBA) or technical field including MS/PhD in Optical Engineering.
Minimum of 8-10 years of management experience in a commercial and business development role including strong experience in Business Development and Marketing
OEM experience in global industrial and / or defense markets. Laser machining and additive manufacturing experience is a major benefit.
Proven commercial track record, demonstrated by a progressive level of growth in responsibility and successful demonstration of leadership/business competencies.
Demonstrated strategic selling success at all levels of organization, C-Suite and below.
Excellent customer relations skills and proven results in an OEM selling atmosphere.
Increasing sales, multi-level negotiation techniques and selling critical enabling components and/or sub-systems solutions in a complex selling environment must be demonstrated.
Experience selling in a matrix organization with multiple business units is a major benefit.
Demonstrated success in the application of Commercial tools like SPIN selling, Herman-Miller etc.
