Position Summary
The Director, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting has ownership of and responsibility for SEC reporting and compliance; consolidations; and technical accounting and compliance with US GAAP, including accounting for acquisition and other transaction. This position allows for excellent exposure and growth within the organization and reports to the VP, Corporate Controller. The position will be based out of our corporate office located in downtown Chicago, with a current hybrid schedule of collaborative office days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Primary Responsibilities
Own and manage the process of preparing all required SEC regulatory filings, including Form 10Qs, 10Ks, 8Ks and registration statements
Ensure financial statements are accurate and complete; all necessary footnote disclosures are included; and compliance with all SEC and NYSE rules and regulations
Partner with investor relations in production of earnings materials; ensure consistent and accurate investor messaging and manage the compilation of all relevant financial statement attachments; review and validate investor/analyst presentations to ensure accuracy and consistency with other public information
Continually review and improve reporting process and controls
Serve IDEX as the technical accounting expert; provide guidance and expertise to the organization
Lead research and determination of appropriate accounting treatment for all M&A as well as other complex transactions ensuring they are recorded in compliance with US GAAP; document accounting treatment in whitepapers
Proactively communicate the potential impact of transactions to the organization to senior management to ensure all accounting impacts are considered in transactions
Liaise with external auditors on all financial reporting and technical accounting matters
Research all new accounting and reporting standards issued by FASB and SEC; determine if new pronouncements impact IDEX and document treatment and adoption of new standards; partner with the controllership group to coordinate timelines and necessary changes to business processes
Partner with the controllership group on policy updates and policy exceptions as needed
Ownership of the consolidation, including managing changes to the system hierarchy with the financial systems team and liquidation of legal entities
Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting deadlines and regulations, including ensuring reports are complete, accurate, timely and reconciled to U.S. GAAP
Experience
10 years accounting experience,
Minimum of 6 years in public accounting, with public clients
Minimum of 3 years of management experience
CPA is required
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting
Manufacturing experience highly desirable

Experience complying with SOX 404
