The Finance & IT Director will have responsibility for all aspects of the finance team and financial and business systems functions and for the Warren Rupp business located in Mansfield, Ohio. The individual will analyze and redirect resources through accounting and financial reporting that meet or exceed the requirements of internal and external customers. The Director actively participates with the Staff in the planning, direction, and policy making for the Business Unit and communicates and supports the strategic and operational plans of the business units. The Director mentors staff and develops talent to support the growing needs of the company.
This position will support the corporation’s strategy to maximize the combined strengths of its business units to provide better solutions, expand margins and generate strong cash flow. The individual will maintain a financial reporting/internal control system that will provide management with the appropriate financial and operating information. He/she will develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance, operational excellence and other criteria that directly reflect the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the business group.
KEY SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate as a key business partner to the Warren Rupp leadership team. Contribute to business strategy development and operational execution of business plans that drive organic growth and M&A.
Direct the regular financial processes for the Business Unit including closing the books, forecasting, planning, and the reporting and analysis of results.
Ensures all compliance with legally mandated external financial reporting including the Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements. Audit the operations for compliance to corporate and business unit policies and procedures.
Prepares detailed analyses of financial statement results, including cost trends, customer profitability, product line profitability and variance analysis.
Analyzes operating results to determine and recommend profit and/or cash flow improvement opportunities.
Perform special analyses to support strategic business decision making – this can include financial analysis in support of M&A, capital investments, changing business models, pricing models, make vs. buy, etc.
Evaluate, approve and/or recommend course of action on capital spending and investment requests.
Provide leadership to the Segment finance organization in recruiting and developing top finance talent.
Work alongside the Corporate Finance organization (i.e., treasury, tax, and audit) in improving financial processes, implementing policy changes, and executing strategies and initiatives.
The Finance & IT Director must be first and foremost a results-driven leader who possesses a strong passion for being a true finance partner to the business operations. The position requires a proven and experienced finance leader who possesses experience in leading a Finance and IT organization in a manufacturing company.
The candidate must have a successful track record operating as a strategic, client-focused, functional leader with a strong orientation toward collaboration with others to accomplish their responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished finance professional possessing blended experience in both commercial and business finance and the necessary business acumen to understand how organizations work.
Highly desirable candidates will also possess demonstrated success in building organizational and financial team capabilities by providing hands-on experiences, expanded responsibilities and development opportunities to prepare team members for succession. The Director will possess tact and maturity and will prefer to subsume his/her ego while driving the Business Unit’s agenda in a collaborative manner. An in-depth understanding of accounting principles, practices, procedures and controls on manual and automated systems, and the ability to exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures.
Excellent analytical and forecasting skills and the ability to translate complex situations into information that will support the profitability and growth of the business.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.
