Job Description/Responsibilities :

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate collection and reporting of financial information and variance analysis.

The Staff Accountant participates in inter-departmental projects as required to support business decisions and profitability improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Participates in the month-end close, including preparation of required journal entries, controls support, and associated analysis.

  • Responsible for performance of key internal controls on a monthly basis.

  • Participates in annual SOX testing; gathers/prepares documentation for various internal/external audits.

  • Assists in preparation of month end operating review package.

  • Prepares and reviews various operating metrics to monitor business performance, including actual versus budget analysis.

  • Provides guidance of expense vs capital reviews and assists with CAR preparation.

  • Participates in preparation of annual budget and forecast.

  • Expected to advise the Finance Manager immediately of any errors, irregularities or significant adjustments, or journal entries as they occur.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance.

  • 2-4 years accounting experience

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills to work effectively outside the Finance organization.

  • Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity and is never willing to compromise with regards to ethical standards.

  • Experience in compliance and internal controls preferred.


Success in this position requires the ability to build a strong partnership with the business operations staff and to provide timely suggestions for cost reduction and margin improvement. These relationships must be built on respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork and professionalism.
