PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position will have exposure to several key general accounting activities. The associate will be a self-motivated, resourceful, hands-on Finance professional who can manage simultaneous projects in a demanding but rewarding organization. The individual must have exceptional organizational skills, must be approachable and must work collaboratively with internal and external teams. The ideal candidate will be self-driven and willing to go the extra mile to achieve the company's goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes monthly journal entries in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

  • Maintain schedules used in month end journal entries and reporting.

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and provide analysis for accurate cash forecasting.

  • Generate and support service billings and reporting.

  • Calculate and file monthly tax reports.

  • Support commission calculations and filing.

  • Work with internal and external auditors.

  • Handle all documentation needed to satisfy monthly controls.

  • Perform account reconciliations timely.

  • Work with other Finance personnel on key projects as needed.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Self-starter that maintains high ethical standards.

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.

  • Ability to read financial statements and understand key performance metrics.

  • Demonstrates ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Exhibits commitment to continuous quality improvement.

  • Must be self-motivated, show initiative, anticipate and prevent issues by executing advanced problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and within time constraints to meet strict deadlines.

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask as needed.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:

  • Pursuing or received a degree in Finance, Accounting or other related field required.

  • 2-4 years of experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, sumif, etc.)

  • Experience with large ERP, especially JDE preferred.
